Site Safety Manger, Bogue, KS/McPherson, KS Pump Stations

New construction of converted natural gas to oil, 22” pipeline pump stations

Following Client and Swaggart Brothers HSE plans.  My responsibilities included oversight, implementation and on-site direction of Safety, and Environmental Health for these projects.  All aspects of Industrial Civil, Plant, Fabrication and Pipe fabrication Systems Safety were implemented.  Critical Lifts were also a major involvement, and projects were completed with the upmost safety in hand.

PTS/U S Army Corps of Engineers

Electrical Controls Base Shutdown.

Installation of electrical control systems to existing infrastructure on 2 Army/National Guard bases.

Coordination of Med Voltage Power Distribution shutdown implemented using all Safety Guidelines and Procedures for lock-out and testing to install Control Systems.

Premier Builders Inc.

General Forman/Electrical Division. FMI Copper Mine

New electrical installation for B-5, Lime slacker and Thickener(s) 2&4.

This was a large addition to the copper processing unit at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold.

All aspects of Electrical construction, to include Safety, Quality and Protocols of work completed were instituted on this project.

Responsible for QA Turnover/Protocol packages for client.

Safety Engineer/Industrial Electrician

Projects include; Agricultural facility in York, Nebraska, Potash mine in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Garnet mine in Montana, and Barite mine in Battle Mt. Nevada. I wore multiple hats through all projects.  From Safety to Quality to Millwright, and Industrial Electrician, the adage “careful what you wish for” comes to mind.  The challenge of performing so many important duties kept me on my toes and has helped me become a respected leader with my company and with our clients.

We finished all projects with minimal rework and exceptional quality, while keeping the health and safety of our employees a core value.

Electrical/Mechanical Technician.  Installation, diagnostics, build and repair of telecommunication, electro-mechanical systems pertaining to oil field well services and equipment involved in oilfield production.

All aspects involving L/V, M/V, and High voltage installation of Electrical and Communication systems for natural gas compressor station.  Responsible for fiber optic installation to include PLC, and SCADA system(s) for facility communication backbone. Team lead for Exothermic Bonding/Earth Grounding, Thermal Controls and Heat Trace.

Installation of DVR hardware, software, fiber optics, servers and electrical for March Network Security/Camera systems. Construction and placement of rack systems and installation of switches, and UPS battery back-ups.  Commissioning and testing of copper and fiber optics to NOC.  (Network Operations Center).

Newmont Gold.  Surface/Underground Operations

Installation of low voltage systems, including; fiber optics, copper and backbone for SCADA Emergency Systems.  Constructing all phases linking data centers to microwave sites, surface/underground mining communications systems.  Locating and diagnosing existing underground systems to isolate faults for alarm/communication systems.

Proctor and Gamble Paper Mill

Providing all new underground electrical and low voltage wiring for paper mill construction.  Responsible for placement and project As-built drawings for site lighting, security, and camera systems.  Provided leadership in our group for Electricians with no experience on an industrial project.  Received 2 safety awards.

Double D Electric & Instrumentation

Oil Refinery explosion re-build.

Installation of all new communication, Electrical, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, lighting, and controls wiring.  Diagnose, test systems to all points of plant, control room, and data center for functional operation. Coordinated with engineers, vendors, and control room operators for work permits, LOTOTO.

Industrial Power

Underground construction of electrical and telecommunication systems of 2 large water treatment plants.  Responsible for installation/verification of duct-bank, conduit, and stub-outs for new Control

Room building(s).  Connecting all electrical vaults, and MCC’s.  Pulling of all underground wiring systems, splicing/terminating, testing, and certifying to include med/high voltage, controls and fiber optics.

On and off for 17 years I worked for Ormond Construction in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  I worked as a Quality Control and Safety Engineer.  Projects included large scope Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Air Force, and Argon National Laboratory Nuclear Power Station projects.
